Breakout cable is also known as fan-out cable. As shown in the following image, a breakout cable consists of two or more simplex cables bundled around a central strength member. Each fiber has its own jacket, and all the fibers are packed together inside the same outer jacket. Breakout cables are typically designed with tight buffering and the fiber count is 24 fibers.
